Formerly known as Kimble, Mr. Schmitz or Dotcom is a well-known convicted for racketeering and insider trading hacker. Unfortunately for him, he managed to get the media’s attention once more as he is suspected to be the owner of Megaupload.
The site has been targeted by Perfect 10 (an adult material oriented website) who in the past filed other copyright infringement suits against sites who posted its copyrighted erotic images.
It seems that Mr. Kim Dotcom – the alleged mastermind behind Megaupload and other popular file-sharing sites – may be found guilty according to a report and court filing published by Techdirt. The court said that Perfect 10 “has adequately alleged Megaupload has engaged in volitional conduct sufficient to hold it liable for direct infringement.” The document reads that the site provides a network designed to encourage copyright infringement and that its ops are being paid to upload popular and copyrighted data to Megaupload’s servers.
Vanishing after his conviction in Germany in 2003, Kim reappeared as Dotcom in New Zealand which gave him a warm welcome as he offered a sponsorship for the local fireworks. The rumor says that he plans to buy a 10$ million home there.
